About Us

Our Story

Solis Power was founded in 2021 by Dr. J. Chris Ford, an energy systems expert with deep experience across advanced energy technologies, federal innovation programs, and infrastructure-scale commercialization. Through his work in government, industry, and capital markets, Dr. Ford identified a critical gap in the energy transition: while renewables had become cost competitive, they lacked the ability to deliver firm, dispatchable power at scale.

Solis Power was created to close that gap.

Led by Dr. Ford and supported by world-class experts in solar thermal engineering and power systems, Solis Power is commercializing a patented advanced solar concentration platform that delivers high-temperature, dispatchable thermal energy for 24/7 industrial and utility-scale applications. By integrating Concentrated Solar Power (CSP) with long-duration thermal energy storage and proven power cycles, Solis converts intermittent solar resources into infrastructure-grade assets that perform like conventional thermal power plants—without fuel volatility or carbon emissions.

Today, Solis Power enables industrial operators and energy developers to transition existing thermal assets to bankable, capital-efficient solar infrastructure, delivering long asset life, predictable cash flows, and scalable deployment across global markets.
